Two people have been seriously injured in a possible wrong-way crash in the HOV Lanes on Interstate 25.
According to Colorado State Patrol, they received an alert to a wrong way driver and only six minutes later the crash happened at 12:41 p.m. in the HOV Lanes at I-25 and 62nd Avenue.
The driver going the wrong way, southbound in the northbound HOV lane, was a woman in a Jeep Liberty and troopers are investigating whether drugs played a part in the accident
Two people were rushed to Denver Health Medical Center with serious injuries. State troopers said the injured included the driver from each vehicle; the woman in the Jeep and a man driving the sedan.
The northbound HOV Lanes were closed for several hours following the accident and investigation and reopened at 4:20 p.m.
The investigation included how the driver of the Jeep was able to enter the HOV Lanes going the wrong way since all the entries have gates that block the lanes to prevent that occurrence.
