SUV Leaves the Road and Crashes into Building

Last Saturday, at around 10.00 a.m. for some as yet unknown reason a Chevrolet Tahoe was driving on the wrong side of Colorado Boulevard and then mounted the sidewalk, narrowly missed a fire hydrant and a lamp post, and then crashed into a building on the northwest corner of Colorado and East Amherst Avenue.

Accent Optics was located in the building and three people who were inside the store were injured. One of them, a 60 year old woman is still on the critical list.

The driver of the vehicle, thought to be in his 20s, had to be extricated from his vehicle and suffered serious arm injuries.

Police say they think he was on some sort of drugs but have not yet said which type, and they went on to say that they expected to take him into custody.

Colorado Boulevard was closed whilst the building was made safe and police and firefighters conducted their investigations, but was reopened at lunchtime.
