Early on Friday evening a man was seriously injured when he was hit by an RTD light rail train in downtown Denver.
According to Denver Police Department, the accident happened at around 6 p.m. near the intersection of 15th and California streets around a block from the Colorado Convention Center. The man, who has not been identified, was taken to hospital suffering from serious injuries.
California Street was closed at 17th Street because of the accident and 15th was closed at Welton Street which led to streets being blocked due to traffic for several blocks in the area. There were also delays on the D, F and H lines for several hours.
Denver police are continuing to investigate the accident along with the Regional Transportation District. At this time it is not know as to how the accident happened.
