Elderly Woman Charged With Careless Driving in Fatal Accident

An 81 year old woman has been charged with careless driving which caused the death of a 14 year old boy.

The accident happened on July 13 when Patricia Livingston was westbound on East Yale Avenue from Colorado Boulevard in a 2010 Audi A4. She then began to drive erratically and was swerving in and out of opposing traffic. She then hit 14 year old Cole Sukle, who was rushed by ambulance to Denver Health Medical Center where he later was pronounced dead. A 13 year old boy with Sukle was injured.

Back in October, 2015, Livingston was suspected in a hit and run crash but no charges were filed in that case after the victim said she didn’t want to pursue allegations against an elderly woman.

Livingston is still hospitalized following the incident and her family has said that they will now prevent her from driving in the future and will hire a driver for her.
