Denver Man Initiates Crash

An accident involving a Denver man in Sedgwick County, Wichita, left two people injured.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said that the accident happened just after 11.30 a.m., when a 1995 Honda being driven by 19 year old Erik Del Refugio Martinez Solis, of Denver, was traveling northbound on the onramp for West Street to Interstate 235 northbound in Wichita.

Solis then failed to yield to a 2007 Toyota passenger vehicle driven by 72 year old Judith A. Metzgerof Wichita, who was going northbound on Interstate 235. The Honda then hit the Toyota and Metzgerof overcorrected and moved into the left lane.

At the same time, a 2007 Lincoln passenger car driven by 72 year old Dan K. Carson, of Topeka, tried to avoid the Toyota and ended up on the left shoulder. He then over corrected, crossed both traffic lanes and rolled over.

Carson and his passenger Susan Carson, aged72, also from Topeka, were taken to St. Francis Hospital. The KHP said all drivers were wearing seatbelts and no other injuries were reported.
