There was a road-rage incident on Wednesday night on Interstate 270 which turned deadly when a third motorist struck and killed a man while he fought with another driver.
According to Commerce City police, the incident began at around 10:37 p.m. Wednesday at the 5700 block of I-270.
The police said that one car rear-ended another and following the accident, the two men got out of their cars and began a physical altercation.
While they were fighting, the Range Rover driven by Maria Ortega, traveling east, came upon the scene and hit one of the men with his vehicle.
Police went on to say that Ortega was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after failing a roadside test. Police said they’re investigating whether alcohol played a role in the accident.
Police have not released the name of the dead man and the other man involved in the road-rage incident was held for questioning by police and released without charge.
