According to a new study by the CDC, deaths due to alcohol abuse in 2006 cost the United States $224 billion.

Experts are hoping that Americans will sit up and take notice of the report, realizing that alcohol should be used with caution, and both one off accidents and long term abuse can result in death.
They hope that people will be aware that the dangers of alcohol abuse are not limited to those who are driving while drunk, but understand that its misuse can lead to a whole range of other potentially fatal accidents as well as the long term damage to the body.
